The holidays have come and gone and together with the Christmas decorations I’ve also put away all the Christmas cards we received this year from close friends and family. Quite a few of them enclosed a “letter” and given the amount of changes that the second part of 2012 brought to our family, we were particularly happy to receive them and to catch up on all the things we may have missed in the lives of the people we love and care about.
So, in the spirit of the holiday letter, let me take this opportunity to write one to you all and briefly catch you up with you on what happened to Cives Urbe in 2012:
Let me start saying that 2012 has been an incredible year marked by discovery, evolution, growth and tons of changes. Which in my book, is all good stuff!
The number of clients that chose Cives Urbe in 2012 increased significantly over 2011 thanks to the generosity and support of all who referred us relentlessly since Cives Urbe was founded in late 2010.
More than 90% of our clients referred us to their friends and family. We consider this an outstanding result. It’s the most gratifying and at the same time most humbling experience I’ve ever personally had in my professional career.
I’ve had the honor to support a wonderful organization dedicated to ending domestic violence: A Woman’s Place. As a volunteer, a Co-chair for their Business Appeal Cabinet and as a Board member I’ve had the great fortune to meet and work alongside some of the most amazing women I’ve ever met and was given the opportunity to help other women live the life they desired for themselves.
We have increased and strengthened our relationship with our partners in Italy and forged new collaborations and alliances so our clients can benefit from even more choices and amazing experiences.
We have expanded the number of clients we serve outside of the United States, so I guess this make us International!
We moved our “headquarters” to the Midwest and now everyday we look out at the Sear’s Tower (oops, I think it’s “Willis” Tower now!) from our office window.
The move to Chicago, while exciting both professionally and personally, has required more energy and time than expected and diverted attention from regularly interacting and sharing thoughts and tales with you all – Cives Urbe’s followers. We have missed you and we’re sorry it took us a while to get back on track.
BUT, 2013 promises to be a year full of more surprises and exciting new endeavors.
Here’s just a quick “sneak preview” of a few:
We’ll be saying bye bye to Cives Urbe and hello to a new “alluring” name. With it, a completely new look and a brand new website will go live in the first quarter of 2013.
We’ll launch a series of all-inclusive experiences in Italy. Very small groups of women will travel to Italy with me to see and savor the country I know and keep secret from the masses.
We’ll bring to you new ideas on what to see, what to do and where to stay throughout 2013 with a particular emphasis on Central and Southern Italy.
And so much, much more so stay tuned and enjoy this promising New Year!
